Role model mother teresa.
Many people find comfort in helping those in need. However, Mother Teresa is one of the exceptional people who inspired the whole world. She is my role model because her exemplary work, she was caring, religious and led a selfless life. She inspired and motivated me through her charity work. Mother Teresa was in born Yugoslavia as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910. She dedicated her life helping the less fortunate all over the world. She is an example of a few individuals who inspired the world by her small deeds. She put aside her desires and need to help others proving how one person can make a big difference in the world.
Mother Teresa lived in Macedonia, was involved in charity work at an early age, as a teenager she discovered her calling and joined the Irish Sisters of Loreto, she was named Teresa after Saint Therese of Lisieux. Mother Teresa’s work was felt all over the world because she was involved missionaries charity work establishing 450 centers all over the world reaching out to the needy and ill people. She assisted in establishing homes for people with terminal illness because she believed that people should die peacefully.
Mother Teresa established dispensaries, hospital, homes for unwanted children and school. Mother Teresa and her followers nursed the sick, taught street children gave shelter to the homeless and proclaimed the word of God. During her charitable missions, she traveled to many places from Ethiopia to Armenia to help those affected by the earthquake. Whenever there was the need, and she could help, Mother Teresa did it with her whole heart. Mother Teresa died in September 1997 after contracting malaria and a chest infection. She is remembered for receiving numerous awards for her great work. Some of the coveted prizes she received included the nobel peace prize, India’s Jawaharlal Nehru Award and the US Medal of Freedom. Mother Teresa is remembered for most of her noble deeds; she was dedicated and lived a selfless life. Her work will be remembered for many years because she was inspirational. Mother Teresa will be remembered for all her noble deeds.
Mother Teresa was referred to as the Angel of Mercy because she showed mercy to the people who were neglected. She always was concerned about others more than she was. There probably will not be another person like her, but through her, many people have been inspired and can live by her example by reaching out to everyone in need. I remember Mother Teresa once said that not everyone could do great things. However, we can start small by doing small deeds with passion. Mother Teresa loved everyone with passion and found good in every person she met. Mother Teresa was determined as she helped the poor; she saved many lives in his country India.
Mother Teresa had a beautiful heart and worked to eliminate the suffering of humanity and relieve the helpless from misery. She understood the pain of others. I have never seen someone dedicating her entire life serving the diseased, underprivileged and poor people. I am not surprised that many people came from all over the world to meet her and seek her blessings. Mother Teresa is the mother and a role model of the world. Looking back at what Mother Teresa did for others, I feel inspired and would want to volunteer my services during my free time. I admire her courage and her simple life I wish I could be compassionate and look at life positively each day. I hope that everyone can follow her example by helping the poor and needy in our community and throughout the world.

Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, in Albania. In 1950, in Calcutta, India, she acquired Indian citizenship and started the Missionaries of Charity. She led the Missionaries of Charity's growth while providing care for the sick, elderly, orphaned, and needy for more than 45 years. She later took the initiative to other parts of the world. Pope John Paul II declared Blessed Teresa of Calcutta when she passed away and had her beatified.
Anjeze Gonxhe Bojaxhiu (later called Mother Teresa) was the youngest child of Nikola and Drana Bojaxhiu's, who were from Shkodra, Albania. Her father passed away when she was eight years old, and her mother brought her up as a Roman Catholic. When Anjeze was 18 years old, she left home to become a missionary with the Sisters of Loreto.

After acquiring Indian citizenship, Mother Teresa spent a short time in Patna studying medicine at the Holy Family Hospital before venturing into the slums. She first established a school in Motijhil (Calcutta), but soon she began attending to the needs of the malnourished and poor. A group of young ladies joined her in her mission to start a new religious community that would benefit the "poorest of the poor" at the beginning of 1949.
Awards And Honours
Mother Teresa achieved international renown by the 1970s as a humanitarian and supporter of the weak and powerless. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour, in 1980 for her humanitarian efforts. The Missionaries of Charity, founded by Mother Teresa, kept growing, and at the time of her passing, they were running 610 missions across 123 nations. On her 100th birthday in 2010, she was honoured internationally, and Indian President Pratibha Patil lauded her contributions.
Mother Teresa has been criticised by various people and organisations, such as Christopher Hitchens, Michael Parenti, Aroup Chatterjee, and Vishva Hindu Parishad, against the proselytising focus of her work, which includes a vehement opposition to abortion and contraception, a belief in the spiritual goodness of poverty, and alleged baptisms of the dying.
While visiting Pope John Paul II in 1983, Mother Teresa experienced a heart attack in Rome. She was given a synthetic pacemaker in 1989 following a second attack. After battling pneumonia while in Mexico, she had new cardiac issues in 1991. She offered to step down as leader of the Missionaries of Charity. In contrast, she was approved to remain by the order's nuns in a secret vote. Mother Teresa agreed to carry on her duties as the order's leader.
She passed away on September 5, 1997.
My Role Model: Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa is one of the most inspirational women I know about and serves as my role model. Mother Teresa was an epitome of compassion towards the needy. She was a kind, generous, and holy woman, and yet a risk-taker. She inspires me to strive for personal improvement. Mother Teresa once said – “Not of all us can do great things, but we can show a lot of love in little things”. This statement touched my heart the first time I read it and stays close to me till date.

This lead her to follow God’s will, and become a teacher at St Mary’s school, and later become the principle of this school. At the school Mother Teresa, taught history, english and a couple of other subjects to teach the children at the schools. She loved the kids as if they were her own, and equally. Mother Teresa’s second calling was the call to care for the people in the slums of Calcutta, but to do so she needed permission from her superiors, as at this stage Mother Teresa was the principle at St Mary’s. In the following year, Mother Teresa began her work which obeyed God’s call fro her to look after the poor, sick and dying in the streets. Through many difficulties, Mother Teresa obeyed and followed the work which God led her to do, her lives work, and influenced her into making these decisions. The vow of obedience, influence Mother Teresa greatly, in following orders from superiors, and God himself. As said by Mother Teresa, “…by faith, I am catholic. As to my calling, I belong to the world…”, her calling brought her closer to the world, and the calling itself influenced the work which Mother Teresa is known of doing.

Mother Teresa was a courageous woman because she dedicated her life to helping others. Throughout life, she chose to help the needy, poor, sick, and helpless people of the world every day of her life. Her actions are considered courageous because she chose to help people, rather than seeking reward for helping others. Mother Teresa is an example of how courage can be expressed through the service of large amounts of people, rather than just one or a few. If Mother Teresa chose to work for reward, her behaviors would not have been considered courageous. For example, working at a soup kitchen or non profit organization is not courageous, because in each instance, there is a reward for the work the individual is putting in (community service hours and money).
I Admire My Own Leadership Style
On August 26, 1910 Mother Teresa was born in Skopje, Macedonia with the name Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. Not much is known about her early life, but when she was only 8 years old, Agnes father suddenly died and she grew much closer to her mother. Agnes mother was a compassionate woman who greatly cared for others and had an open invitation for people of the city to eat in her home. When Agnes asked why people were eating with them, her mother responded, “Some of them are our relations, but all of them are our people.” The attitude of Agnes mother and her care towards others as Agnes grew up is likely what inspired her in her future endeavors.

It was September the 10th, 1964 and World war 2 had only just come to a conclusion. Mother Teresa sat on a piping hot train, on a hot summers day in Calcutta. She tried taking up as little space as possible to avoid being crowded which she was to a great extent and deeply swelter. She was on a train from Calcutta to the Himalayan foothills for a retreat. On this train ride Christ spoke to Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa: Establishment Of A Role Model
Mother Teresa was a diligent and hard-working woman whose love for the Lord aided her in sharing the gospel throughout her missions. She continuously worked to selflessly serve the Lord and help others learn about him as well. Through every trial she endured, Mother Teresa never lost faith in the Lord and his future plans for her. Mother Teresa was born to Nikolle and Dranafile Bojaxhiu in Skopje and was the youngest child of the Albanian couple. She was born on August 26, 1910 and came to Christ by being baptized the following day as Agnes Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, a date she considered her ‘true birthday’. She received her First Communion when she was five and a half. Mother Teresa was also raised in a devout Catholic family where her father was an entrepreneur and her mother was an activist in the local church activities. The tragic death of her father happened when she was only eight years old and became extremely close to her mother in the upcoming years. Her mother greatly influenced Agnes and instilled a practice of commitment to charity and involvement in the church. Mother Teresa knew she was called into Missions when she made a journey from Calcutta to Darjeeling for her yearly retreat, on September 10, 1946 where she experienced a call from the Lord to fulfill His desire of serving the poor. This was also a major turning point in Mother Teresa’s ministry. Mother Teresa explained the experience as an order from Him, which she could not deny as it would mean breaking the faith and by this she knew where to go.
Mother Teresa established a new religious community, Missionaries of Charity Sisters, which was dedicated to serving the poor like the Lord had asked her. Mother Teresa overcame the obstacle of since she had taken a vow of obedience, leaving the convent without official permission was impossible. For nearly two years, she tried to initiate the new religious community, which succeeded in January of 1948 as she received a final approval from the local Archbishop Ferdinand Perier to pursue her calling. Mother Teresa endured many struggles while serving in her evangelistic journey. She gained Indian citizenship, and travelled all the way to Patna, Bihar to receive medical training at the Medical Mission Sisters. After she completed her course, Mother Teresa returned to Calcutta and found her temporary lodging at Little Sisters of the Poor. Her main mission was to serve Him by helping the unwanted, unloved, and uncared. From then on, Mother Teresa reached out to the poor every day, fulfilling His desire to radiate love, kindness and compassion. Mother Teresa had started off alone but was eventually joined by voluntary helpers who were mostly former students and teachers as well as financial aid. The only greatest failure of Mother Teresa was that on her death bed, she recounted that she was disappointed because she was not able to help all the poor and homeless people who were sick and dying.
Mother Teresa’s greatest success was on October 7, 1950 where she finally received permission by the Vatican to start the congregation that would eventually become to be known as the Missionaries of Charity. A scripture verse that best represents the work of this missionary is Matthew 25:34, which reads, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” This passage relates to Mother Teresa in that she also gave food, shelter, water, and medicine to those who were poor. The Missionaries of Charity started with only thirteen members but went on to become one of the most significant and recognized congregations in the world. Financial aid began to come in easily, Mother Teresa expanded her scope for charitable activities tremendously. In 1952, she inaugurated the first Home for the Dying, where people brought to this home received medical help. Adhering to the different faith that people came in from, all who died were given their last ceremonies according to the religion they followed, thus dying a death of dignity.

In 1950, Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation which had over 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 countries in 2012. Mother Teresa’s religious congregation still manages homes for people dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis. It also includes soup kitchens, dispensaries and mobile clinics, children’s and family counselling programs, orphanages, and schools. Some members of her congregation, who took vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, also profess a fourth vow which is to give, “wholehearted free service to the poorest of the poor.” Teresa received a number of honors, including the 1962 Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize and 1979 Nobel Peace Prize and she was recognized by the church as a saint on September 4, 2016, and the anniversary of her death, which is September 5, is her feast day. Mother Teresa is considered to be a controversial figure during her life and after her death and was admired by many for her charitable work. Mother Teresa’s health started declining in the 1980s when she suffered a heart attack while visiting Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1983. For the next decade, Mother Teresa constantly faced health issues and cardiac problems. She also experienced no respite even after her heart surgery. Her declining health led her to step down as the head of the order on March 13, 1997 and her last visit abroad was to Rome, when she visited Pope John Paul II for the second time. She returned to Calcutta, where Mother Teresa spent her last few days receiving visitors and instructing sisters. Mother Teresa died on September 5, 1997 and her death was mourned by people all over the world.
The world has commemorated this saintly soul through various ways. She has been memorialized and has been made patroness of various churches. There are also several roads and structures that have been named after Mother Teresa. She has also been seen in popular cultures. Mother Teresa served in the congregation, which was limited to India, and opened its first house outside India in Venezuela in 1965 with five sisters. Many more houses came up in Rome, Tanzania and Austria and by the 1970s, the order had reached several countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and United States. Calcutta India was greatly affected by Mother Teresa’s ministry work.
Many changes have occurred in her religious congregation as it continues to grow and attract many young women to join in their work. Sister Nirmala Joshi, who took over from Mother Teresa, being a Hindu convert had the distinctive advantage of getting across to all sections of Indian society. She has done an admirable job of leading the Missionaries of Charity to new heights and was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honor in India, for her exemplary work. I do feel like this missionary was a success because of her work throughout 120 countries around the world. These countries were greatly affected by her work, as people suffering in poverty started to have better lives and the poverty rate decreased substantially. Mother Teresa led others to do work like hers and spread the gospel all around the world. She also guided woman like Sister Nirmala Joshi to lead her congregation which has made an immense impact to people all around the world as well. Overall, Mother Teresa was a selfless and hard-working woman who dedicated her life to serving the poor and spreading the gospel, making a significantly better world for everyone to live in for years to come.

Her life inspired me and captivated my spirit totally and very soon, I inculcated to stand by the side of people who are really in need and distress. Once my locality was hit by a storm and after the calamity was over, by instinct, I felt to stand by the people who were the victims of the catastrophic calamity. While working for the people in distress, I recalled Mother again and again and it provided me immense mental and physical strength to work like a monster along with the disaster management cell of my area.
We all are privileged with the love and care of our parents. We are blessed with a family that stays by our side through thick and thin. But Mother took the pain to metamorphose herself into a universal Mother. She had a love for all the children of the world. She loved us, like the son of God loved mankind. This profound love for the children who are angels of heaven as Mother has seen them helped her to establish homes for the destitute. I was moved by the hardships and struggle Mother Teresa had to undergo to establish her home in the city of Kolkata of India.
I still do not have that much courage to stand beside the orphans in the way Mother stood and dedicated her life towards them. But the clarion call from inside helped me to sponsor a child for her education in one such home. Whenever I meet her and spend some time with the child, I feel so blessed and happy inside. This feeling cannot be made parallel with any other material pursuit in the world. Mother had immense potential. She worked for the sick across the globe. Not only she went for relief at the outbreak of any epidemic but laid the foundation and homes for the people who are suffering from acute congenital diseases like tuberculosis and leprosy.
She had an immense network that launched awareness for HIV Aids, Tuberculosis and Leprosy. Her Leprosy mission is outstanding and she worked and contributed a lot to eradicate and aware people against HIV and Leprosy in south-east Asia in particular. Her mission for the eradication of these diseases had spread across the globe very fast as well. While in my high school days when a community programme was launched for spreading awareness against HIV-positive infection, I took an active part in it.
Under that programme, I got the opportunity to spread awareness about the red light area of the city and meet the people, especially the women and children of those areas who live in darkness and get lost in that dark abbey of life easily. Along with awareness, these people need the light of education and care, love and empathy. The course of my life changed to a great extent after visiting this section of society and in future, I look forward to working for the underprivileged at a greater scale and on a more serious note.

Role Model Essay: My Mother is My Role Model

My mother is the person who has the most impact on my life, and she made me a better person. My mother has many good qualities and values and being a strong woman, supportive, and spiritual is the most important description of her personality.
My mom is the strongest person I never saw. She has five children that she raised on her own. She used to work very hard to provide my family and me anything we need. She never complained about her life. When she was sometimes tired from work, she still makes time for her family and makes sure that we have done our homework. I learned from my mother that if I worked hard, I will get what I want. She always said, “you will not get anywhere without hard work”. In our work, a lot of people complain about small things. They want to have everything without giving any sweat.
I learned from my mother, to be honest, and to believe in God. If I have to make any big decision, I always asked my mom for advice because she has wisdom and experience. I know she will tell me the truth even if it is not pretty but with kindness and without any judgment.
“God willing,” these are two words that my mother often spoke. She has a positive spirit and she believes in God. She always said, “treat everybody the way you want to be treated, and never take for granted the talent that God has given you”. My mother is a very proud person, and she is bearing dignities. Anyone’s who knows her respect her.
Role Models to people are celebrities or someone who’s an athlete. Well I don’t see those people be real role models. My definition of a role model is someone who has always been there, helps you and helps themselves through struggles, your number 1 supporter and will have your back in life no matter what. Yeah, I have someone like that in my life and actually lives’ with me. My mother. She is a strong, great supporter, loving & helps others before she helps herself. Growing up, I’ve always looked up to her because with all the struggles she still manages to keep a smile on her face and keep life going on. She’s always telling me “Make me proud chels”, which I intend to do and not let her down.
My mom didn’t finish high school, instead, she got her GED. She also didn’t finish college because she had me. Getting my education completed is a big deal with my mom. She didn’t want to see her child go through the same problems that she did. Having a high school diploma makes my mom proud because her child achieved something great. The school was a big challenge for me once I got to high school. Public school is where I went all my life; she wanted the best education and environment for me going into high school. Catholic school was. Most of the girls there are used to catholic school because they come from one, but not me it was like a new world for me. The biggest challenge was the money situation. My dad and mom are supposed to pay the tuition half and half. That happened freshman year, but after that, my mom started paying full tuition on her own.

Role models are like a torch of light that inspires and guides in the darkness. That torch of light for me is my mother. My mother is very kind, strong, and hardworking. But what makes her truly worthy of looking up to is that she teaches her children these qualities through her actions. For as long as I can remember,my mother has always been kind and gracious to everyone she meets.
She taught my siblings and I to treat everyone we meet with respect and to act with humility. She is extremely supportive of us, whether we pass or fail in our endeavors. She also works to connect and understand each of her children in order to help us grow and reach beyond our capacities while reminding us to laugh at ourselves and never take life too seriously. She takes on all of the family’s troubles and hides them from her children so that we would not be worried.

Super humans. We read about them, watch them and admire them in the virtual world – but I live with a superhuman. She is my mother.
I am Diksha Dinde, a 23-year-old student and activist from India. I am 84% differently abled, trying to break the stereotypes related to disabled people.
Be it teaching underprivileged children from the slums near where I live or raising awareness to break taboos around menstruation, I have been doing my part to make this world a better place to live.
My mother, Mrs Chitrarekha Dinde, is my role model. She inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers. It seems to me that this woman looks at life as a challenge and wholeheartedly intends to seize the day every day. My mother looked after me and supported me in every part of my life. Right from childhood she has been with me like my shadow. It had been riddled with hurdles and difficulties, but she has managed to cross them all to because of the amazing and independent person she is.
Being physically challenged I am not able to move by myself and because of this I have not been able to do daily routine activities since childhood. At the beginning this was a hardship for my mother, but she was determined to make it work.
She not only helped me whenever I needed but she also taught me to help myself. She taught me to keep myself clean and neat, how to eat and how to know how much to eat. She says, “a child does not learn from what parents say but from what parents do”.
I have had three operations and various therapies on my spine but none have been successful. I was rejected from schools because of their lack of infrastructure and facilities. I was finally admitted to one school.
My mother had to be there with me the whole day, but at the same time she also had to handle our home life. So she started tailoring and working during school hours. That is how she was able to satisfy financial needs in the home.
Now I’ve graduated in Business Administration and I’m pursuing a Masters.
Whenever I look at my mother I see an ordinary person but when I think about what she does and how she does it she becomes divine and the reason of my smile!
The experience of my life so far has truly brought things into perspective. My mother has taught me that hard times can be overcome and that losing battles can be won. She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book.
She sets an inspirational example to me teaching me how to live life and make wise choices, even in the most uncertain situations.
I respect her a lot. She is my inspiration, my role model.

MOTHER TERESA In my English assignment, I was asked to do a report on someone or things that I am interested with. So, I decided to choose Mother Teresa as my role model to accomplish my task. To me, a role model is someone you want to emulate or hope to be like one day. Besides that, a role model is also someone who has inspiring actions or words. However, I feel that a role model needs to be honest, kind-hearted, humble, and caring. Therefore, I choose Mother Teresa as my role model because she had many great qualities that made her an inspiration in my life. Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born on the 26th August 1910 in Skopje.
It is the current capital of Republic of Macedonia which was part of the Ottoman Empire at the time of her birth. She was baptized on 27th of August 1910 and receives her First Holy Communion at the age of five and a half. She was the youngest among her three siblings, they were Aga, her older sister; and Laza her brother. Her parents were Nikola and Drane Bojaxhiu. Their families were a completely religious Roman Catholics. Her father was a well-respected local businessman and her mother was a housewife. Nevertheless, her father was active in politics as part of the Skopje council members and owned few houses.
Not long after, her father died and it was being believed that he died because he was poisoned by his political enemies. Under those circumstances, her family’s lifestyle changed completely and her mother had to work to raise the family. Agnes learned about being a charitable person from her parents. They did not neglect those who were in need in terms of financial or materials needs. Then, her religious faith was further strengthened when she actively involved herself with the activities that were conducted by the Church of Sacred Heart (Kurdasy 2009). At the age of twelve years old, she decided to become a nun.

As time went by, and turned eighteen, she made a decision to leave her home in September 1928 to live with the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was known as the Sisters of Loreto at Ireland because of her desire to become a missionary. Agnes is a person that was willing to learn and was brave in accepting a new environment. In Ireland, she had to speak English, so she learned it and after a month, she brought the language back to India and established an education centre, St. Mary’s high school in Calcutta for seventeen years as a teacher and principal.
Not long after that, she accepted her vows as Sister Mary Teresa as she took the name of the patron saint of the missionaries, St. Therese of Lisieux. Sister Mary Teresa made her Final Profession of Vows on 24th May 1937 and after she said she was the “spouse of Jesus” for “all eternity”, she was called as Mother Teresa (Langford 2008) Mother Teresa announced her mission to help the poorest of the poor while living with them as she discovered her calling from Jesus when she was on her way to an annual retreat on 10th September 1946. It all happened when she was on the train.
She believed that if she did not obey what God had told her, it meant that she had to break the faith. She was given the permission to leave the Loreto Order of Nuns after a year but she did not leave until 16th August 1948. People were able to identify with her simple clothing that she wore every day; that is a simple cotton sari with blue borders. She went to cities wearing that outfit. It is a hard decision full of sacrifices that she made, for she had to leave her friends and companions just to do God’s will all by herself with the strength and guidance from God.
But she did not realize that the organization of Loreto Order of Nuns would adopt her outfit has their habit (Mandela 2013). The most interesting part about Mother Teresa is that before she started her mission, she learned a lot of medical skills from the Medical Missionary Sisters. After three months, she was set out to help the poor in Calcutta because of her caring heart towards others. When she reached Calcutta, she communicated with Father Van Exem to assist her in finding a place to stay. Mother Teresa stayed at St. Joseph’s home.
She received a warm welcomed from the Little Sisters of the Poor and they approached her to follow them to help the elderly at the beginning of her mission after she left Loreto Orders of Nuns (2009). Not only that, she started her mission without any financial aids. Mother Teresa did not have any money but gave her attention and energy to the poor. Even though it was tiring, she did not stop because of her love and compassion towards God and people. She helped those people that no one dared to get close to such as the lepers and the dying. Every night she would want to get back to her easy life at Loreto but then she prayed to God to help er to go through it all. Mother Teresa never stopped praying to God to ask for assistance and wisdom as she knew that without God’s help, she cannot endured the suffering of helping the poor (Mandela 2013). Besides that, Mother Teresa helped incalculable poor and homeless people. She always thought to herself that there were many in need. She cared about her health and she was so devoted to help and care for those who are in need as she sees Jesus in every person. As it was stated in The Good News Bible of Genesis 1:26-27, “for we were created by God through his own image” (p2). She was called to establish ‘help’ to reach out to the poor.
Through her duty of helping others, she received high financial aids from a wealthy people such as the Kennedy family and even from the Pope Paul VI by using the money of the church to help her in conducting her mission. Not only that, she also receive a lot of awards such as Pope John XXIII Peace Prize, Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation Award, Templeton Prize for Progress in Religion; Presidential Medal of Freedom and Noble Peace Prize (2009). Mother Teresa did not care what other people will think or say. She was criticized by a lot of people for wasting all the money for the dead and the dying.
But it never stops her as she loved towards the poor, the dying and the victims of leprosy. Mother Teresa was motivated to seek medical treatment for all of them. However, in order to provide it for them, the nuns of her organization set up clinics so that people are able to receive medical care and treatment. Soon after that, the sisters opened up a rehabilitation clinic for lepers. They established of over forty acres of land at Town of Peace meant for the lepers (2009). Through her compassionate heart, it actually taught me to be more compassion with others when I receive any rejection or criticism from other people.
In conclusion, Mother Teresa was a person that was admired; loved and respected by the world. Her entire life was she dedicated it to God to use her to serve the poorest of the poor as a sign Jesus’s love through her actions, deeds and words. She was a type of person that made a great impact in my life and made people look at the world differently. The world is filled with good people, people that donate billions of dollars, those who dares to raise their voice or opinion to make changes, but then; Mother Teresa stands out in the crowd with bravery as she was a very unique person with the help of God.
Mother Teresa said this, “let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work” (Teresa). To sum up, Mother Teresa taught me to have a pure heart and love others just as I love myself. Her actions and kindness had actually opened my eyes, she said that “not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love” (2009) and that is the reason I chose Mother Teresa as my role model in life. My family left their country 26 years ago to live the American Dream. America has given so many people a second chance to reach endless possibilities. The magic of it all is America. It’s known for “the land of the free and home of the brave” moto where everyone is free to do whatever they wish and is brave enough to get through the impossible. I am proud to say that I’m a daughter of an immigrant and even more proud to be the first generation of my family to be born in the United States. In the US, the possibilities are endless. If people come from all over the world to better themselves and to be given a chance to have better opportunities, would they still want to do it.
My mom came to America from Vietnam 26 years ago. She never misses a moment to remind me of my roots. Both of my parents were born and raised in Vietnam. During the time they were there, the government was under communist rule. Times were rough for the both of them. My mom would tell me how she had three shirts, one pair of pants, and a pair of shoes for the whole year. She also had to share a pen with her sister, meaning they would trade off after every class. After the Vietnam War, my mom and her family flew to America to restart their life. The war had ruined their country and they could no longer call it their home.
Coming to America, my mom didn’t know English. She took an English night class while working at a strawberry farm in the morning, and also going to college.For many years, the Dream has been the most positive thing that has happened to our family. Meaning, the dream is worth the hard work and effort on trying to attain it.Within the next few years of going to school and working she graduated from WSU with her masters, and has been working 2 jobs for as long as I can remember. Working as a part time college professor and full time for the government. My mom worked so hard to get what she wanted and she deserves it. She left her country and came to the country filled with dreams. To her this was the best decision she has ever made
After struggling for years in Vietnam than in America she still never gave up. While having a lot on her plate I’ve never heard her complain. She is constantly helping people that she loves. She has always had a hustler mindset and always been a hard worker. My mom and I may not be close or get along all the time but I still look up to her.
I’ve always known she is a role model to me but the specific moment where I realized I wanted to be like her was when we were talking in the kitchen. It was a Sunday, my dad has just dropped me back off at my Mom’s house and they were talking about all the things my mom has to pay for within the month.
My dad said “Your payment for Megan’s Orthodontist starts next month, you need to pay for insurance, and taxes.”
“That’s not even all of it,I have to do so much.” My mom said.
They kept talking for a couple more minutes, then my dad left. My mom and I kept talking about random things. Then I asked her about her story of living in America. I do not remember the specific details of the story but she was telling me about how she when she lived in Vietnam her family was very poor.
“Me and my sister had to share one pen for school, we would meet each other on the way back and forth from school and trade off.”
“Your grandma worked at the farmer’s market selling meat and your grandpa was in jail, we were struggling to live.”
“Your grandparent, uncle, aunt, and I came to America 26 years ago, with very little money, and not knowing any english.” My mom said.
“You’ve came so far within the past 26 years, I don’t know how you did it and never gave up.” I said
She kept telling me more about our family and how hard she worked. Talking to her made me opened my eyes on how many things she has on her plate. She works full time while taking care of her family and making sure everyone is taken care of.
As we continued the conversation I realized how hard my mom works for everything she has.

My Mother is My Role Model
The dictionary definition of a hero is someone who is admired of their achievements or their noble qualities. To me, the definition of a hero is someone who helps others and is caring. The person that had the greatest impact on my life really didn’t have that great life herself. The person that has had the greatest impact on my life isn’t rich or famous or invented something that changed the world. My mother while being a single parent my mother has shaped me into the man I am today because she always worked through adversity, impacted other children , and inspired me in a plethora amount of ways.
Adversity can help determine what one is truly able to do. Born in Miami Florida, my mother’s alcoholic mother brought forth her in the back of a taxi. At nine years old, my mother was sexually attacked by an uncle and at 16 she turned into a high school mother herself wanting to give up on herself and dealing with the doubt of other family members she decided to stick it out and be the first one out of the family to graduate from high school. At the point when she turned 21, she found herself a mother of four with a physically abusive husband and once again wanting to walk away and give up but stayed because she knew the importance of young black boys having a father figure. Subsequent to getting away from her oppressive home life, my mother brought my siblings and I up the best way she could. On a modest single-parent salary my mother would always put aside money from her checks because she believed that one day she would one day be an entrepreneur. yet through many cancelled checks and construction deals she never lost sight of her dream. My mother was a firm believer in the saying of “hard work pays off”. As a single parent of four youthful kids, my mother was no stranger to hard work. She put in unlimited hours at work to accommodate her family, while likewise still pushing at her dream to be an entrepreneur of a children’s daycare. My mother knew going back to college to get a degree would help her reach her goals yet adjusting family and employment duties would be troublesome. While trying to stay on track one of my older brothers attracted a disease, requiring her to abandon her all-day occupation to tend to him. Since he was recuperating, she realized that in the event that she needed to go back to school it was a now or never situation. After a tough four years she obtained her bachelor’s degree in management when it seemed all the odds were against her. Thus, becoming the entrepreneur and daycare owner she always dreamt of becoming.

Role models helps the youth discover who they wish to become in the future. Being an entrepreneur of your own business is no easy task, especially when you must gain the trust of other parents most precious jewels. My mom cares for other people’s children just as if they were her own. This job can be very stressful and draining. As for my crazy mother, she makes it seem so effortless. From homework assistance, diaper changing to recreational games and nap time she is always on her feet. Not to mention the numerous amount of meetings and interviews that she attends throughout the week. My heroic mother has it all worked out like clockwork. When the children arrive at the daycare she immediately jumps into homework assistance to help the children understand the task that is before them. I can remember one year she had a child who attended her daycare facility who could not read nor write. After working with this child day in a day out and speaking positivity into his life she helped him read and write and helped him to become the highest student out of third grade class. On another occasion she helped a young girl who did not believe graduating high school was something that was obtainable. My mother took the girl up under her wings and told her that she can do anything she sets her mind to. By the end of her exhausting and gruesome day one would infer that as soon as she steps foot into the doorway of our house she would fall face forward to the ground. However, when she gets home she then helps my younger siblings with homework and give them a numerous amount of vocabulary and spelling test to ensure they understand the material. My tireless mother just doesn’t stop there she then sits down at the dinner table and comes up with different methods to ensure that she is being a positive role model to the kids she supervise.
There have been a vast number of people that have an impact on my life. Many different people have shared a piece of valuable information with me. However, my mom has always been there for me to make sure every dream or goal I may have is reached. Ever since I can remember my mom has done whatever she could to help me succeed in numerous things. Whether I was struggling in a class, driving me wherever I needed to be, or just needed someone to be there for support, my mom was always the first one there. In ninth grade I became very sick and fell far behind in school. I almost didn’t pass a few classes due to absence’s, but my mom worked with me, stayed up late to help me, and talked to my teachers asking for extensions so I could get caught up and move on to the tenth grade with no worries of the past. Many parents I know would just leave it up to their kids and if they didn’t pass they didn’t pass. Not my mom I’m fortunate enough to have a thoughtful enough mom to push me and help me through the hard times. Also, I have been running track since the age of seven, and competing in track meets since I was eight. A big part of the track life is traveling, for the most part, pretty far. I always depended on my mom to get me to the places I needed to be. No matter what she was doing, she made sure I was there and on time with all my stuff ready to run. I know that if it wasn’t for her going through such great lengths for me I would never been able to experience everything I have so far.
In conclusion, my mother is the best thing I could have ever asked for she been through so much but always found a way to inspire me and others what a true definition of a superwomen.
Everyone has that one person they look up to as a role model; to me there is none other than my mom. She has beauty, brains, and one of the biggest hearts I know. Without her in my life I have no idea where I would be. Someday, when I am married and have children of my own, I hope I can be just as great of a mom to them as my mom has been for me. it is my mother who is the most important and most influential person in my life. My mother raised me by herself since the day I was born.
