It is highly crucial to have an aim in life, as they keep us moving forward to achieve something. I hope all of you seated here agree with me. At times you may fail at the first attempt, but you shouldn’t lose your hearing. Fight all the odds, stand up against the obstacles, work hard and try to achieve your goal. Hard work will always help you achieve success in life.
Choosing the right and suitable career was never easy for me. I was just like every other person struggling to fixate on a particular aim. I would keep changing my dreams and ambitions now and then. Whenever I would come across any influential personality, I was quick to believe that I would become like that personality someday.
You too at some point would start seeing yourself at such a position, but any wrong step taken would lead you nowhere. It’s crucial to analyze yourself and think that what gives you happiness and that ultimate thought is what you desire to become in life.
Before choosing a dream, you need to see through the process. I want to share with all you here my experience through which I found my aim of life.
I always have dreamed of becoming a teacher since class fifth. My aunt is a teacher and has always been my role model. I have much admired her since always. As I grew up, I realized that aim is not like a Genie’s wish, but you need to put in a lot of effort and hard work.
It would help if you sacrificed a lot of things that other people might be pursuing during that time, even though you would have shown keen interest in doing those things. It would help if you always were determined and focus on your aim. You will get enough time to enjoy and have fun, but what comes first in line is the aim of your life.
The obstacles that I have faced in my life made me realize the important things, and that is literacy. Education plays a significant role and provides you with success, fame, and money. The reason I aim to become a teacher is that in this way, I will be able to serve my country. Unless Education has reached all corners of our country, growth and development can not be attained at peak.
I have also understood that A teacher’s life is full of challenges. I admire and revere all my teachers who have sacrificed their family life and have taken time to solve our issues and problems. A teacher needs to understand the student to explain his/her questions. A teacher remains impartial and considers every student as an equal.
Teachers are the building blocks of society, as they help in transforming a student’s life. It is essential to have passion and dedication to the teaching profession as it requires a lot of sacrifices and hard work. A big thank you and heartfelt gratitude to all my teachers. I have grown looking up to them. They have taught me and have directed me to the path towards a bright future.

Everybody has some aims in life. It is very important. A life without an aim is life a boat without a rudder. But choosing a career in such a cut throat age of competition is really a difficult task.
Different people have different aims in their life according to their tastes and temperament. Some people want to become technocrats like doctors, engineers, scientists while many want to become bureaucrats life IAS, IPS AND IFS.
Some dream to become educationists, while for others politics holds great attraction. A few are lured to pursue their career in anti-social activates. There are people who have a craze to become poets, writers and novelists. To say, different people , different choices.
I am not a highly ambitious man. I am modest by nature. I do not want to be a multi-millionaire. The profession of teaching has been very attractive to me. This has been my childhood dream. The sole aim of my life is to serve the society to become a good citizen. To me teaching appears to be the best way to serve the society.
I belong to the lower middle class of society. Naturally, I have to face several difficulties in my life. The difficulties encountered during the journey of my life made me realize that lack of education is the biggest problem to which I will devote my life to spread literacy to every nook and corner of society so as to remove the darkness of illiteracy. It is a shame that one- fourth of our population still do not know how to read and write even after over six decades of independence. In terms of women education, the picture is all the more gloomy. Unless we are educated we cannot make all around progress.
I would be particularly sensitive to the needs of the weaker section of society. I would work hard to bring change in their lives. When this section of society is educated, we will have a totally different society. There will be no superstitions when they will be educated. I will always be available to attend their queries whatever arise. I will arrange extra classes for those who find it difficult to keep pace with the regular class.
I am fully aware that I’ll have to face lots to face lots of hardships. A teacher’s life is hard. He does not command the respect he deserves. This profession is looked down upon as of a lowly status. A teacher’s life is full of drudgery. I will not be concerned for the earnings. I fill try my best to make the students good citizens. I will help them in broadening their outlook. I’ll groom their personality and shape their characters. I’ll groom their personality and shape their characters. I’ll try to inculcate in them good moral values. So that India have good citizens to take it on the path of progress and prosperity in which everyone has a dignified life full of equality of opportunities. According to great educationist and our former president Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, “Teachers are the custodians of the highest values.”

Choosing a profession is not an easy task. A wrong choice can mar one’s career and make one’s whole life miserable.

I want to follow in the footsteps of my father. I am a brilliant student. I’m particularly strong in science subjects. Biology is my favourite subject. I have a natural bent of mind for the medical courses.
So, I have decided to become a doctor. I belong to a well-to-do family and my parents can easily pay my fees.
My chief aim is to serve humanity. There is so much misery in the world. I want to mitigate it to whatever extent I can. I have decided that I will not charge heavy fees from patients. I’ll treat poor patients without charging any fees. May God help me in my venture !

After a few days of illness, he died. It gave me a terrible shock. I began to think about the suffering of people. I decided to become a doctor and do some service to the sick people.
I will study hard to qualify myself as a doctor. When I become a qualified doctor I will move to the country side and set up a dispensary there. I am sorry to say that doctors wish to live in cities. They do not feel that their need in villages is greater.
But I would like to serve villages. I will work day and night to serve people. I will keep in mind that people need consolation and sympathy more than medicine.
I will not be money minded. I find that doctors have lost reputation because they are money minded. They have brought bad name to this noble profession. But I will not charge fee from poor patients.
I hope my dispensary will be model for other doctors. They must realize that there is a greater need of doctors in village. Real India lives in villages.
If health of villages is neglected, our country cannot make progress. Doctors must go to villages and nurse the suffering people crying for help.

My Aim in Life
Many people seem to have no definite aim in life. They are like ships without rudder or compass, sailing to no definite port, blown hither and thither with every change of wind. They live an aimless life ; and what they do, and what they become, is largely a matter of chance, determined by the circumstances in which they happen to be placed. Such people, because they aim at nothing, achieve nothing. They are human driftwood, washed about by the ebb and flow of the tides.
To make anything of life, a man must have a definite aim of some sort. A man striving to realize a clearly defined ideal is like a steamship steaming by compass to a known destination. It does not depend on the wind, but forges ahead by its own innate energy, in the teeth of wind and wave. Such a man sees before him what he is aiming at, and his determination to attain it carries him forward whatever obstacles may stand in his path ; for “where there’s a will, there’s a way”.
An ideal is something desirable which we seek to achieve. It is always something beyond our present attainment ; for when we realize it, it ceases to be an ideal. Because it is beyond us, and because we greatly desire it, our aim in life, whatever it be, rouses us to put forth effort to reach it. A man, who wants to reach the mountain top, climbs.
Different people have different aims in life. Some aim at wealth, some at power, some at fame, some at business success, some at scholarship and the possession of knowledge. An artist has before his mind a standard of excellence in his art ; a statesman aims at carrying through great schemes for his country’s advancement ; a devout man has before him a high ideal of goodness, and will not be satisfied till he attains it.
But if it is so necessary to have some aim in life, it is still more necessary to see that one’s aim, one’s ideal, is noble and good. For the more earnestly we strive to attain our aim, the more surely shall we realize it. In all cases the ideal a man sets before himself determines the sort of life he will live, and the sort of man he will be. If the ideal be noble, he will become noble ; if it be base, he will become base.
