Not so important but it improves your language and if u r able to improve your language from side then choose those subjects as hons. Which is your optional in mains it manage your time other wise u have to concentrate on graduation also

- Economics: Bhartiya Arthavyavastha Ka Vikas for Class 11. Parichayaatmak Vyashti Arthashastra for Class 12. There is also another economic book for Class 12. The book is Parichayaatmak Sukshma Arthasatra.
- Social Sciences: NCERT Class 9 has four books regarding this subject. They are Arthasatra and Bharat Aur Samakalin Vishawa I in Hindi, and Samakalin Bharat I. Loktantrik Rajniti is both for Class 9 and 10. Except for those two common books, there are three other books in Class 10. The books are Bharat Aur Samakalin Vishwa II, Arthik Vikas ki Samajh, and Samakalin Bharat.
- Sociology: Now, here is the NCERT book list for Sociology. Class 11 has two books for this subject which are Samajshastra Bhag I and Samaj Ka Bodh. And as for Class 12, it also has two books. They are Bhartiya Samaj and Bharat Mein Samajik Parivartan Aur Vikas.
- Geography: Bhartiya Bhautik Paryawaran and Bhugol Main Prayogatamak Karya for Class 11. Other than these two there is another one for Class 11. It is Bhautik Bhugol Ke Moolya Siddhanth. On the contrary, Class 12 has only two geography books. They are Manav Bhugol Ke Moolya Siddhantha and Bharat Log Aur Arthvyavastha.
- Polity: There are two books on political sciences in Class 11. Rajniti Siddhanth and Bharat ka Sanvidhan, Siddhanth Aur Vyahvahar. Similarly, Class 12 has two books. They are Samakalin Vishwa Rajniti and Swatantra Bharat Mein Rajniti Bhag-II.
- History: Class 11 has only one book which is Vishwa Itihas Ke Kuch Vishay. As for Class 12, Vishwa Itihas Ke Kuch Vishay Bhag- I, II, and III.

For History, if Bipan Chandra’s books look hefty, you may refer to NCERTs, Rajiv Ahir’s Spectrum and Poonam Dahiya’s ancient and medieval history books. Rest books can be read as it is. Make sure that after one reading, you are able to answers previous years UPSC questions .

Uppsc/uppcs 2023 notification released (यूपीपीसीएस 2023 की अधिसूचना जारी), (notification) uppsc combined state / upper subordinate services (uppcs) exam - 2023, (advt. no. : a-1/e-1/2023), assistant conservator of forest (a.c.f.) / range forest officer (r.f.o.) services examination - 2023.
SPECIAL NOTICE: (a) On-Line Applications will be accepted only when prescribed fee is deposited in the Bank upto prescribed last date for fee deposit. If the fee is deposited in Bank after the last date prescribed for fee deposit, the on-line application of the candidate will not be accepted and the fee deposited in the Bank will not be refunded in any condition. It will be responsibility of the candidates to deposit fee in the Bank upto the last date prescribed for fee payment and to 'submit' the application upto last date prescribed for submission of applications. It is also informed that any amount deposited in the form of examination fee shall not be refunded in any condition.
(b) In Online Application System, the candidates have to provide their Mobile No. and valid E-mail ID in prescribed column failing which their Basic Registration shall not be completed. All relevant information / instructions shall be sent through SMS on that mobile and E-Mail on their vaild E-mail ID. This is also directed to the candidates to check the commission's website continuously for further any update.

Presently the number of vacancies for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination is about 173. Number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending upon the circumstances/requirements
The details of approximate posts to be included in Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination carrying the pay scale as per 6th pay commission of Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs 4600/- (except Naib Tehsildar whose grade pay is Rs. 4200/-) to Rs. 15600- 39100/- Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-
Under the Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination the Pay Scale, grade pay and status of Post are given as below:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
For the posts included in the Combined State /Upper Subordinate Services (General Recruitment / Special Recruitment) Examination- The candidates must possess Bachelors Degree of any recognised University or equivalent qualification upto the last date for receipt of application.
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years on July 1, 2023 i.e. they must have not been born earlier than 2nd July, 1983 and not later than July 1, 2002. For Pwds candidates, the maximum age limit is 55 years i.e. they must have not been born before 02 July, 1968
Application Fee:
In the ON-LINE Application process, after completing the procedure of first stage, Category wise prescribed examination fee is to be deposited as per instructions provided in second stage. The prescribed fee of preliminary examination for different categories is as under:-
(i) Unreserved/Other Backward Class : Exam fee Rs. 100/- + On-line processing fee Rs. 25/- Total = Rs. 125/- (ii) Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe : Exam fee Rs. 40/- + On-line processing fee Rs. 25/- Total = Rs. 65/- (iii) Handicapped : Exam fee NIL+ On-line processing fee Rs. 25/- Total = Rs. 25/- (iv) Dependents of the Freedom Fighters/Ex-Serviceman/Women: According to their original category
PLAN OF EXAMINATION :
The competitive examination for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination, 2022 comprise three successive stages viz :-
(1) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type & Multiple choice). (2) Main Examination (Conventional Type, i.e. Written examination). (3) Viva- Voce (Personality Test).

When the candidate clicks on the “ALL NOTIFICATIONS/ADVERTISEMENTS” Commission's website the On-line advertisement shall be http://uppsc.up.nic.in automatically displayed, wherein there shall be 3 parts as given below:
(i) User instructions (ii) ViewAdvertisement (iii) Apply
A list of all the advertisements will be displayed in which “On-line System” is applicable. The Instructions for filling “On-line form” have been given in User Instruction. The Candidates desirous to see the advertisement will have to click before 'View Advertisement' to which they are desirous to see, full advertisement will be displayed along with sample snapshots of ON-LINE Application Procedure. Click on “Apply” for OnlineApplication.
