Everyone has someone they look up to and want to be just like one day and everyone has different opinions and who a true hero is. My personal hero is my mother , Christy Nguyen. My mom is my favorite person in the world because she is always there when I need her the most and I do not know where I would be today without her. She blessed me with a great life and I am forever thankful for all she does for me. Nobody could ever compare to my mother . She is the most caring, loving, and genuine person I know and that is why she is my hero. When I think of a hero, I think of someone who is brave, strong, hardworking, trustworthy, and unselfish. Someone who can protect you and make life better; my mom has all of those qualities.
My mother was raised by her single mother and had a hard childhood growing up. She was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States at a young age by herself to escape the chaotic war going on. She went on to attend cosmetology school and graduate with a license. My mother was very hardworking and did whatever it took to make sure I had a happy life. She has always told me that she does not regret immigrating to the United States to have a better life. A hero to me is a person that is there for you no matter what; they will always be by your side even if times do get tough. My mom has never left my side, and I know she will always be there for me whether I am upset and crying, or I am celebrating a new accomplishment in my life. I have never met someone who is so selfless as her. She has always put me first in her life and done everything she could to be the best mother and give me the best life. Putting up with me is not easy. I am moody, stubborn, and at times I think I know everything.
My Mother and I do not have the perfect relationship. We get in arguments and disagree on a lot of things, but no matter how big of a fight we get in we always make up by the end of the day because we both know we could not live without each other. One of the many great traits my mom has is that she is caring. She always listens to my day and gives me advice on handle problems that comes my way. When I had problems with a group of my childhood friends, she helped me decide to do what was best for me. I had been holding off on them because I felt like they only saw me as a friend when something was needed.

Rizal, my Hero! “A hero is a man who is afraid to run away - (English Proverb)”. Indeed, a man who has a brave heart would not choose to run away but instead give the good fight he can give. Truly, Rizal deserves to be the hero of this Country. Like what Zaide wrote “He (Rizal) was not quarrelsome by nature, but he never ran away from a fight”. Every hero has its own exemplary deeds but for me, Rizal, is one of the best Heros because of his patriotic services in his country.
From his writings to his good communications with other people, foreign or Filipino, he proved to be the best man living in his time and until now. I was so amazed by his bravery that though he already knows that what he plans to do would might lose his head. I so can’t imagine that I will do such exemplary thing to my fellowmen like what Rizal did especially to Dapitan when he was an exile. I consider him my hero because I was deeply touched by his writings, through his writings I was awakened by some of his noble thoughts.
Though he is not revolutionary in nature he knows what to do to make this country free from Spanish tyranny and I consider that he is not imprudent because I know he already think what might happen and if that never happen he would accept it. I admire of how he handle things, somehow. Rizal is the hero of the poor Filipino that is hungry for freedom while he’s my hero because he thought me to be the best that I can be. Though he is intelligent in nature and I am not that so, I was inspired to excel in any ways that I can be as what his theme in his poem “To the Filipino Youth”, “Grow, O Timid Flower”.
He is a remarkable one and I am not, but through reading and discovering more of him I learned that he did not consider himself as a very noble person but he did what he can do in this country. I learned that you don’t have to look over what you can’t do in this country but look what you can do in this country. A simple good deed to your fellow men is truly remarkable already. I may not be like him that has done many things in this country, through him if he is not a Filipino I might not know what the importance of being a Filipino Youth is.
Like what he said “…the years of the youth should be employed in something nobler and lofty for the very reason that youth is noble and lofty... ” When I was a kid when my teacher asked “Who is our national hero? ” , “of course, it’s Jose Rizal” but I don’t have a deeper knowledge about him. Now that I am a fully grown youth, I was able to know through his life what I must and what I can do. Rizal is an example of a noble youth. I might not be as nobler as he but using him as an example, I can also leave a legacy to my family and relative and most of all to other Filipino Youth. Without education and liberty, which are the soil and the sun of man, no reform is possible; no measure can give the result desired - (Indolence of the Filipinos-La Solidaridad)”. I find education really important as what he thought of it. And I would do the best that I can to excel and not just to pass and to be also exemplary in the eyes of every Filipino. Rizal is really my hero because he thought me of being a brave youth, facing challenges and make things that is most important in my very eye and would benefit my fellow men. How remarkably he is!

When I think of a hero I envision someone hardworking, honest and determined. I also think of someone I look up to and want to be like one day. This leaves only one person — my mom, Lucy Brady. She has all the qualities I hope to embody one day.
I have never met someone who is as selfless and humble as my mom . She has always puts me first in her life and does everything she can to be the best mother and give me the best life. One of the many great traits my mom has is that she is strong. When I was two years old my dad got really sick and had to quit his job. My mom had to work, provide for my two siblings and me who were all under the age of four and help take care of my dad. It was a really scary time for all of us, but she never let the stress show and made sure to put all of us first.
My mom is the most intelligent person I know. She attended Penn and got her degree in business, finishing summa cum laude. She later went to Stanford Business school where she finished in the top 10% of her class. Watching my mom work her way up In her career has taught me the value of hard work, believing in yourself and the importance of setting high goals.
Although my mom works very long hours she still makes time to be at all my sporting events. She is my biggest fan! You can always hear her screaming in her what my family and I like to call her “man voice”. She also goes out of her way to spend time with me even after a long day or week at work. She is always willing to drive me around, help me with homework, watch tv or play a board game.
My mom is a great wife, mother and friend. She makes me feel like the most important person in the world, and would do anything for me in heartbeat. Words cannot express the love I have for her, and how blessed I am to have such an amazing mom. She has alway taught me to love myself, and to be proud of who I am.
My mom has always said that you should do whatever makes you happy and be the best person you can be.She has been by my side for 15 years now and I know she will always be there. Nothing will ever compare to how much she has impacted my life. I would not be the person I am today without her. And for all these reasons I call my mom, Lucy Brady, my Hero.

The dictionary definition of a hero is someone who is admired of their achievements or their noble qualities. To me, the definition of a hero is someone who helps others and is caring. The person that had the greatest impact on my life really didn’t have that great life herself. The person that has had the greatest impact on my life isn’t rich or famous or invented something that changed the world. My mother while being a single parent my mother has shaped me into the man I am today because she always worked through adversity, impacted other children , and inspired me in a plethora amount of ways.
Role models have an outstanding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models helps the youth discover who they wish to become in the future. Being an entrepreneur of your own business is no easy task, especially when you must gain the trust of other parents most precious jewels. My mom cares for other people’s children just as if they were her own. This job can be very stressful and draining. As for my crazy mother, she makes it seem so effortless. From homework assistance, diaper changing to recreational games and nap time she is always on her feet. Not to mention the numerous amount of meetings and interviews that she attends throughout the week. My heroic mother has it all worked out like clockwork. When the children arrive at the daycare she immediately jumps into homework assistance to help the children understand the task that is before them. I can remember one year she had a child who attended her daycare facility who could not read nor write. After working with this child day in a day out and speaking positivity into his life she helped him read and write and helped him to become the highest student out of third grade class. On another occasion she helped a young girl who did not believe graduating high school was something that was obtainable. My mother took the girl up under her wings and told her that she can do anything she sets her mind to. By the end of her exhausting and gruesome day one would infer that as soon as she steps foot into the doorway of our house she would fall face forward to the ground. However, when she gets home she then helps my younger siblings with homework and give them a numerous amount of vocabulary and spelling test to ensure they understand the material. My tireless mother just doesn’t stop there she then sits down at the dinner table and comes up with different methods to ensure that she is being a positive role model to the kids she supervise.
There have been a vast number of people that have an impact on my life. Many different people have shared a piece of valuable information with me. However, my mom has always been there for me to make sure every dream or goal I may have is reached. Ever since I can remember my mom has done whatever she could to help me succeed in numerous things. Whether I was struggling in a class, driving me wherever I needed to be, or just needed someone to be there for support, my mom was always the first one there. In ninth grade I became very sick and fell far behind in school. I almost didn’t pass a few classes due to absence’s, but my mom worked with me, stayed up late to help me, and talked to my teachers asking for extensions so I could get caught up and move on to the tenth grade with no worries of the past. Many parents I know would just leave it up to their kids and if they didn’t pass they didn’t pass. Not my mom I’m fortunate enough to have a thoughtful enough mom to push me and help me through the hard times. Also, I have been running track since the age of seven, and competing in track meets since I was eight. A big part of the track life is traveling, for the most part, pretty far. I always depended on my mom to get me to the places I needed to be. No matter what she was doing, she made sure I was there and on time with all my stuff ready to run. I know that if it wasn’t for her going through such great lengths for me I would never been able to experience everything I have so far.
In conclusion, my mother is the best thing I could have ever asked for she been through so much but always found a way to inspire me and others what a true definition of a superwomen.
Everyone has that one person they look up to as a role model; to me there is none other than my mom. She has beauty, brains, and one of the biggest hearts I know. Without her in my life I have no idea where I would be. Someday, when I am married and have children of my own, I hope I can be just as great of a mom to them as my mom has been for me. it is my mother who is the most important and most influential person in my life. My mother raised me by herself since the day I was born.

My mother Beatrice has always been there for me since the first moments of my life. Since I was born, she raises me, takes care of me and gives me a lot of attention. Without her I wouldn’t be where and who I am today. After reflecting about who I could choose as a hero, I realized that she is the person who impacted my life the most and that is why I want to honor her. My mother lives in the South East of France in my hometown with the rest of my family.
I admire my mother for different reasons. First of all, she taught me and still teaches me everyday some values and skills I’m glad to have. My family and I started to travel to some places that are completely different than Europe or North America like poor and developing countries in Asia and Africa. By traveling to these countries, my mother wanted to show me the conditions under which a lot of people live and that it is not just what we know. My mother made me want to travel and discover the world even more. She taught me to be open-minded about other cultures and people, which I think is very important to understand others but also to get to know oneself. My mother is also partly responsible for one of the most important decisions I took in my life : doing this exchange year abroad. We talked for hours about me doing a year abroad and my mother always could help me to clarify my thoughts and my feelings about it.
Speaking of taking decisions, my mother helped me a lot when I had and still have to take decisions whether these decisions are important and will have an impact on the rest of my life like what I want to study or simple decisions about everyday issues. For example, when I wasn’t really sure what I should do, I know that I can always ask her and she will take time to help me figure it out. She is always the person I go to because she understands me the best and know how to find the right words to answer me. I know that she will always be there for me, listen to me, understand me, comfort me and encourage me.
Furthermore, my mother always supported me for everything I have undertaken. Now since I’m here, more than 5000 miles away from my mother, I realize how important it is for me to share a lot with her, because I know that she will help me as much as she can. She is very attentive and careful and even with the distance, by the way I talk, she knows how I feel.
Also, she always helped and encouraged me to study. Even if it probably doesn’t sound like something noteworthy, for me it was important. Indeed before my exams at the end of high school she spent hours with me and tested me and helped me. She gave me a lot of her time and energy so I can do well in my exams and thus be proud of myself.
When I had to write essays for my applications to universities, my mother stayed up after midnight and helped me finish it, even if she was tired and had other things to do. During this time I had to write my applications for the universities. I also had to fill in the forty pages long application for the exchange year. If I had to summarize, it was a period of stress. Sometimes I just wanted to stop writing the sixteen applications. After a few weeks of trying to make my essays almost perfect, I lost my motivation for doing it and I was probably annoying but my mother never complained and kept helping me. Thus she always puts me, and my sisters of course, but generally everyone else before herself. Many times she pushed me to go beyond what I could do, to make my projects and my dreams come true. She wants other people to achieve a lot in their life. Making people happy makes her happy and I admire how a generous person she is. Thus my mother is an inspiration and I admire her for everything she has done and how she manages it.

My Mother as My Hero
Everyone has different heroes, for some people their heroes have special powers. Well, my hero is my mother Carol.
She is the most hardworking and supportive person I know. My mother is now 43 years old, she has three girls and one boy. She worked at Housekeeping department for 5 years but transferred to Sports Bar as a food runner this year. My mother has a big impact in my life because she is always there for me no matter what and she gives me the best advice when I am having a hard time.
She believes that I can achieve anything, my mother influenced me to finish my education, and made me go out of my comfort zone.
My mother helped and showed me that I can achieve anything as long I put my mind into it. She also taught me how to be a good person, for example respecting people that are older than you. When I don’t have confidence, she motivates me to believe in myself that I can do anything for example, this year in sports not having enough confidence in myself made me think that I will not play a game like what happened last year not playing at least one game.
Sometimes when I need help with my homework, my mom will not hesitate to help me even though she doesn’t know it.
My mother life wasn’t easy like what I thought because she never showed or told how she struggled unless we ask her about her life.

Growing up, my mother used to work every summer when there’s no school at her Aunty to help her family. With all her hard work and dedication my mother graduated college and became a med-tech. She migrated to United States in 2013 after being separated from us for about three years. Coming here, she had a hard time finding a job because she couldn’t use her degree in United States. Instead, she had an opportunity to apply in Housekeeping at Four Season.
Another reason why she is my hero is because she influenced me to finish my education in highschool and to graduate with honors. My mother inspires me more to attend college and pick a career that I am interested. When I was in elementary, I used to struggle in Language Arts and Math but my mom made me realize that if I work harder in school, listen and pay attention to the teacher and ask for help. I can understand the topic that is being taught to me more. I am a shy person but my mother inspires me to look up to her, a person who have confidence in herself.
My mom also made me go out of my comfort zone. Coming from a different country, I didn’t want to meet new people because in my mind people might judge me. Living in Lanai, afterschool I would head home do my homework and just watch t.v. The only time, I would talk to my peers would be in class. She wanted me to join sports and school clubs so, I could interact with my peers more rather than staying at home and this is what I actually did when I entered high school. I followed what she told me, now I am part of Leo’s club for almost 3 years and I joined one sport which is tennis. I never thought that interacting with your peers can be fun and exciting.
She might not have special powers, but my mother is my hero. She has the qualities of a hero. My mother is someone that I can talk to and encourage me to do my best. My mother is that type of a person that doesn’t give up and tries her best all the time, and she always have confidence and I want to be like her someday. Someone who always believe in herself and can achieve anything.

“Why my Mother is my Hero”
When I think of a hero, I imagine someone strong and fearless, someone who works hard and doesn’t give up easily. Someone who can guide you and protect you; my mother has all of those qualities. My mom was raised by two wonderful parents, in a farm with thirteen other siblings. She was born in Mexico in a small Ranch named, “La Campana” it is an hour away from the nearest town, which is called “Coalcoman.” For that reason she wasn’t able to finish school because in order to go to school my grandpa had to drive her and the rest of her siblings to town which was an hour away from where they lived. This required many trips because like I mentioned before, my mom has thirteen siblings. This didn’t stop my mom. Even though she only made it to the sixth grade she has always taught me and my siblings that getting an education is important and that we at least have to finish high school. So every day I wake up and go to school to make her proud. My mother joined my father and came to the “land of the free,” the United States of America. They came here seeking for a fresh start and better economic opportunities. Both my parents worked in the fields every year, all year round to provide us with everything that we needed. After a few years of them being here my father decides to go back to Mexico alone, where he then was arrested. Ever since, my mother has worked very hard to make sure that we are okay.
A hero to me is someone who is there for you no matter what, even through the toughest times. My mom has never left my side, and I know she will always be here no matter what I’m going through. Whether I’m upset or celebrating a new accomplishment, she will be there waiting for me with her arms wide open. I’ve never met a person more loving and caring than her. She has always put my siblings and I first over everything; giving us the best life. My mother and I don’t have the perfect relationship. We disagree on a lot of things and we sometimes get in arguments but that will never change the fact that she is my mother. No matter how big the fight is we always end up making up because we both know that we can’t live without each other.
