Choose a Writing Method That Feels Comfortable

The environment is a very fragile thing and if we do not take care of it, future generations will not be able to enjoy it. There are many ways in which we can begin to better our environment. One of which is to recycle. One does not have to be an erudite peron to know the numerous advantages of recycling. By recycling daily material in our lives, we will perpetuate a lifetime of useful material without using Earth's transient resources. If our waste is not recycled, then it is sent to landfills, where the harmful substances are left to permeate into the soil. The simple task of recycling is a very powerful way for renewing our supply of natural resources and helping the environment. Another way in which we can improve the environment is to conserve energy. Pollution is a serious global issue that has been occurring for as long as humans have inhabited the planet. There are many different varieties of pollution, as well as an abundance of materials, both natural and synthetic, that the earth has been contaiminated with. With the rise of the industries and the migration of people from villages to cities in search of employment, there has been a regular increase in the problem of proper housing and unhygienic living conditions. These reasons have given rise to factors that cause pollution.
Environmental pollution is of five basic types namely, Air, Water, Soil, and Noise pollution.
Air Pollution: Air pollution is a major issue in today’s world. The smoke pouring out of factory chimneys and automobiles pollute the air that we breathe in. Gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and sulphur dioxide are emitted with this smoke which mixes with air and causes great harm to the human body, flora, and fauna. To prevent and control air pollution, better-designed equipment, and smokeless fuels should be used in homes and industries. More and more trees should be planted to balance the ecosystem and control greenhouse effects.
Noise pollution can be minimised by better design and proper maintenance of vehicles. Industrial noise can be reduced by soundproofing equipment like generators, etc.
To control soil pollution, we must stop the usage of plastic. Sewage should be treated properly before using it as fertilizers and as landfills. Encourage organic farming as this process involves the use of biological materials and avoiding synthetic substances to maintain soil fertility and ecological balance.
Several measures can be adopted to control water pollution. Some of them are water consumption and usage that can be minimized by altering the techniques involved. Water should be reused with treatment.
The melting icebergs in Antarctica resulted in rising sea levels due to the world's environmental pollution, which had become a serious problem due to global warming, which had become a significant concern. Rising carbon pollution poses a risk for causing natural disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones, and other natural disasters.
The Hiroshima-Nagasaki and Chernobyl disasters in Russia have irreversibly harmed humanity. Different countries around the world are responding to these calamities in the most effective way possible.

Gaseous pollutants include gases like Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulphur Dioxide (SO 2 ) generated due to the combustion of fossil fuels. These gases are toxic in nature and harmful to breathe in, when present in the atmosphere in large quantities.
Solid pollutants include industrial waste and waste from human settlements. They consists of all types of solid compounds like plastic, metal, wood, leaves, etc. Solid pollutants not only cause land and soil pollution but also reach our water bodies and pollute them.
Liquid pollutants on the other hand consist of oil and other petroleum products, chemicals, acids etc. The main source of liquid pollutants is petroleum and fuel production industries.
Environmental pollution has an adverse effect on the vital resources like air, water and plants as well as on the health and life of humans. Air pollutions causes respiratory ailments while the pollution of water bodies leads to water borne diseases. Soil pollution also causes contamination of soil affecting the crop production in that particular area.
There is an urgent need to control the environmental pollution by effectively controlling the production of pollutants by adopting more environment friendly policies. Water Pollution occurs when toxic substances like chemicals, plastic and other waste enters our water resources. A main cause of the air pollution is the production and use of fossil fuels. The fossil fuel production industry produces harmful gases like SO 2 (Sulphur dioxide), CO 2 (Carbon dioxide) etc. These gases are toxic in nature and cause other serious complications like greenhouse effects and acid rain.
3) Land/Soil Pollution
The main cause of land/soil pollution is urban waste and agricultural runoff. Urban waste consists of all type of degradable, and non degradable waste likes vegetables, waste food, plastic, hospital waste etc. In the absence of a proper waste collection and disposal mechanism, these wastes get disposed on land resulting in land pollution. Moreover, the use of chemical fertilizers in the agricultural industry causes the chemical pollutants to get absorbed in the soil, causing soil pollution.
4) Noise Pollution
Noise pollution also known as sound pollution and caused when the noise level into the environment reaches up to dangerously high level so as to interfere with normal activities of humans and animals. Transportation vehicles, heavy machineries, aircrafts are the main sources of noise pollution. Noise level is measured in Decibel (dB) and the permissible limit of noise as described by the World Health Organization (WHO) is 50 dB. Though, in the areas of dense population, urban settlement and traffic it often reaches up to 98 dB, which is very harmful to the humans and animals.
There many types of pollution depending on the activities they generated from; nevertheless, the ability to deal with all of them lies only with humans. It required that we take immediate responsibility of our environment and also take necessary steps towards preventing its pollution.

Former is a potent greenhouse gas while the latter is toxic in nature.
Industrial waste generated in industries throughout world carelessly dumped in to environment due to lack of proper planning. It pollutes our water bodies, land and is also harmful to the health of human and other living species.

These gases primarily released due to human activities like transportation, industrialization etc.

Pollution control refers to the controlling of emissions from human activities, into the environment. The waste products that generated by transportation, industrialization, and several other similar activities; leads to the degradation of the environment.
Pollution caused by these waste products could controlled by adapting to new environmental friendly norms for industries. And by allowing recycling or proper disposal of waste.
Methods like dust collection system and electrostatic precipitation can used to control air pollution; sewage treatment like sedimentation can used for treating industrial and urban waste.
Environmental pollution is one of the greatest threats to health of the planet. Ever growing human needs and man’s quest for progress is consistently degrading the atmosphere and its elements. An urgent need to take necessary action for controlling environment pollution caused due to human activities by taking remedial measures.

In this section, the far-reaching effects of environmental destruction are listed and explained. Some of the effects that have been recorded are radiations that make the earth to be unfavorable to live in as these radiations can cause diseases or even mutations that are unfavorable. The other effect described in this section is about extinction of some animal species due to the climate not being suitable for their survival. The final effect outlined in this section is global warming that causes the ice on the poles of the earth to melt. When this ice melts levels of waters in the ocean rises, the coastal cities hence become submerged in the oceans. The section is summarized by showing how human beings are digging their graves by destroying the environment. In the section of Air and water pollution the paper describes how air pollution come about and the effect of air pollution. It is evident that one of the primary impacts of air pollution is global warming and harmful radiation reaching the earth surface. The major effect of water pollution brought out in this section is loss of marine life. In the section of climate change and global warming the cause has been identified as the excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and some of the effects of climate change and global warming are described. Finally in the conclusion section a summary of everything is given and challenge the human race to conserve the environment.

Environment is all that surrounds us. Human beings have a tendency of destroying their environment in the name of making progress. Most of the humans are ignorant of the fact that if we destroy our environment we are destroying our self since the effects of environmental destruction are long lasting. This paper tries to explain the effect of environmental pollution, air and water pollution and finally climate change. The paper bases its arguments on three novels and one movie. The novels and the movies have instance of the human beings destroying the environment in the name of making progress while sense they are creating a long term problem.
People are the funny creatures as they always destroy the environment thinking that they are making progress. They have a tendency of disturb the natural ecosystem habitat by cutting down of trees for construction, through industrialization where they release harmful gasses to the environment. A good example of the nature of the human being is brought out in the novel The Word for World Is Forest where the human invades this planet rape it and decides to colonize it. The same case as of this planet happens when human being discovers a natural forest and decides it is the place where he will build a city. The practice deforestation hence more carbon dioxide accumulates in the atmosphere and, as a result, experience effects it will be in this easy. Destruction Of the environment is like a person destroying himself. In the novel environmental destruction has resulted to radiations that destroy human life. People who remain on the earth live in clustered town. There are radiations poisoning that causes deaths, gene damage, and the can cause illness such as cancer. The land becomes unable to support life of any organism. Both flora and fauna become extinct due to the radiations. Animal extinction result to them being sold at prices of Sidney's catalog. Where the prices of extinct animals are in the example of the last animal sold. An individual who is not financially able to purchase an animal, go on to buy artificial robot? In the novel when the sheep of protagonist Rick Deckard died of tetanus, he replaces it with an electric replica. The model helps him to maintain the illusion that he is among those individuals who own animals (Galvan, 415). Environmental destruction results in radiation that makes the earth unfavorable to support life. Human beings are forced to move and colonize planet mars. Human are compelled to create androids to use them on the colony world. The androids escape from Mars to the earth for their freedom. Humans are forced to hunt them down and kill them. Before they kill them, the humans have to perform the test to determine if they have an android or a human. The effect of tests affect the animal life hence the animal continues to be extinct (Galvan, 425). In the novel, we see the earth dying slowly because of human activities that lead to environmental degradation. Human are seen to be the primary cause of environmental destruction through their activities hence they destroy the earth. In the novel ship breaker, we can see how environmental damage can ruin human being. Due to global warming waters level in the sea increases hence the coastal cities become submerged. As a result, human loses lives hence they pay dearly for their ignorance of not conserving the environment. Some animal species become extinct. It can be by the movie revolution where the main actor tries to save the sharks in the ocean. He discovers there is no need for him to try and save the shark while everything else becomes extinct. In the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? We see all animals are on the verge of extinction hence the humans are forced to buy models of animals so as to feel like they are among individuals who own animals.
Air and water pollution
The movie revolution is about conservation of the environment and the idea brought out is that the whole world does not get into a revolution we shall lose everything. The movie is of great importance as it shows how human activities will make the earth creature to be extinct. A human activity like industrialization release greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere those results to global warming. Through water pollution, we are endangering our marine life hence is about time we stop this dangerous behaviors that will destroy our ecosystem hence we shall lose everything. The importance of this movie is that it is educating us on the importance of taking care of our environment. It clear that if we do not look at our environment we are doomed since the ecosystem may be unable to support life. Due to excessive levels of poisonous gasses in the atmosphere human develop respiratory diseases. Respiratory Complications can be attributable to the inhalation of toxic gasses. As the movie begins, we can see Stewart battle to save the sharks that are becoming endangered species and may soon be extinct. As he is on this adventure, he can understand that there is no point to try and save the sharks and loss all the others marine life. Human activities like industrialization releases greenhouse gas that destroy the ozone layer hence resulting in global warming (Dembicki, 14). The gasses also interfere with the chemistry of the atmosphere hence in turn leading in acid rains that cause death of living organisms. From this movie, one learns it is time we change and start to conserve our environment before we destroy ourselves. The film inspires the world to go to the revolution because it is the only alternative if we still need the earth to continue supporting life. The movie is of great importance as it tries to explain the long term effects of destroying our environment through human activities (Dembicki, 22).
Climate change and global warming
The release of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere the ozone layer is destroyed the earth hence experiences global warming. Global warming results to melting of the ice hence leading to increasing in water in the ocean and, as a consequence, major coastal cities may be submerged. In the novel Ship breaker, the sea levels have raised and sunk major coastal towns. Increase in the levels of water in the sea can be attributed to global warming that cause increases in temperature hence ice in polar region melts. Destruction of the ozone layer can also result in radiations that are harmful life of living organisms. Climatic change has a far-reaching effect since we see that some animal species become extinct due the ecosystem not being able to sustain it. In the movie revolution, Stewart se no point in saving the sharks the earth loses everything else. Different animal species are adapted to different ecosystem hence when there is climate change they may go to extinction due to the environment not being favorable for their survival. Conclusion
